Asda wine mini-tasters now only £1 = £4/litre

Spotted this on HUKD (thanks to jinjernuts) and bought some at lunch time.

Here’s the deal – Asda mini wine tasters (25cl bottles), normal price £1.50 & £2.00, are all reduced to just £1. However, for every mini-taster you buy you get a voucher for the original full price of the mini-taster which can be redeemed against the full bottle. Even better, some of the full bottles are reduced at present.

Quote from Asda website: “Buy a mini taster – if you like the taste, buy the big bottle and we’ll refund the cost.”

Here’s an example:
Buy a Jacob’s Creek Shiraz Rose mini-taster (25cl) for £1, get a voucher for £2.
Redeem the voucher against a full bottle (75cl) of Jacob’s Creek Shiraz Rose, normal price £5.95
Result = 1 litre of Jacob’s Creek Shiraz Rose for £4.95
Or, even cheaper, buy 4 mini-tasters = 1 litre of wine for £4

Other wines include:
Asda Extra Special Beaujolais villages
Campo Viejo Crianza
Canti chardonnay - Pinot Grigio
Casillero del Diablo Cabernet Sauvignon
French Connection special reserve Chardonnay & Merlot

Don't redeem the vouchers.

Give at least 3 of them to other people, or recycle them.

+ you and each of the people you gave a voucher can have another bottle of the same for £3.95

Thanks Gruffalo, I was busy editing my original post when you were posting your reply.
Still a better deal than the 3 bottles for a tenner, although different wines.

Has anyone tried redeeming the vouchers against other wines?

I'm just thinking it would be a great idea to buy all the tasters for my brother in law for christmas and give him the vouchers too, to buy the ones he likes

Good idea Doozergirl. The expiry date on my vouchers is 01-03-08.
Doesn't say anything on the voucher about being store specific.

I couldn't resist. I went straight out and bought 12 bottles 8 for the brother in law, four for me And I bought him a copy of the Richard Hammond book too, for £9 while I was there.

Maybe I should buy more wine, LOL!

Yes, you get a separate voucher with every mini-taster you buy.

When you buy a 25cl Mini Taster online, ASDA will place an eVoucher for the value of the Mini Taster directly into your ASDA.com account within 7 days of placing your order online - meaning you'll have had your Mini Taster absolutely FREE!
If you like the wine and buy a full bottle on your next order, select the eVoucher before you checkout and we will deduct the cost of the small bottle from your shopping. Only one of each Mini Taster type can be bought per shop.
