PCN for parking on Single Yellow
Options
Hi
Today I got a ticket for parking on Single yellow.

Even though I had paid the parking charge using the internet app.
The parking warden (CEO) told me that as per the sign(attached) you can only park in bays.
But I am not sure. Can someone please look at the sign and advise if I should appeal the fine with the council.
I have attached parking sign on that street as a pic in this message.
Parking sign read:
P
Mon - Sat
Permit Holders E
or
Pay at Machine
Display Ticket
Max Stay 2 hours

Have you passed a driving test in this country? Or even read the Highway Code?
You can appeal, but it will be a waste of your time.0 -
Hi,
For some reason I cant see any image that you have attached, nevertheless you have described the sign saying parking restrictions during Mon-Sat.
You cant park on a single line at any time during these restrictions ie: Mon-Sat. There are normally times also displayed ie: 9am-5-pm or between 10am-14.00pm (examples). After these times or before these times is okay, but during is a no, no.
So to clarify, if you parked on a single line during a restricted DAY or TIME period then your fine is legal. If there were parking bays near-by with or without meters this is here you should have parked, and this is what you paid for when you used your mobile app. NOT for parking on a single yellow line.
If you were loading or unloading this opens another discussions as you are allowed unless otherwise stated. Before parking anywhere, look for the sign-posts around as these will inform you of any rules that apply in the area you may want to park.0 -
Sounds like you paid for parking but parked outside of the bay, maybe on wheel on the single yellow line.
I would pay up, it is a legit ticket not one of the private parking charges.0 -
Thank you guys for clarity. I guess I was in the wrong. I should have parked in the bays. Anyways I learnt my lesson.0
