Not entirely unexpected, I would have been suprised if they did lift the waiver.
It's a shame they didn't widen their remit to include reprimanding Credit Card companies who have falsely claimed the waiver applies to them as well.0 -

The Financial Services Consumer Panel, which advises the FSA Board on the interests and concerns of consumers, has made the point mentioned above about credit card companies falsely claiming to be covered by the waiver in their press release reacting to the FSA's decision to keep it -

Correct, the waiver does not apply to credit/store cards, despite some institutions claiming to the contrary!0 -
In light of the court case in January, should the banks not come to a compromise on this until the ruling is heard?
Over the last two months, I had two cheques bounce which were represented and was charged £140 in total for two cheques of £30 and it was because a cheque cleared a day early!
I find this highly unacceptable - this had a spiral effect and in turn was charged near £400 in bank charges! Surely there should be some sort of compromise for the time being until a ruling is heard?0
