Dinnerware set advice

Hi everyone (me again), I'm moving into a new home next week and buying a few things. Wondered if anyone could help/benefit with/from a bit of research I've been doing.

My requirements are a robust set of dinnerware. Dishwasher safe; microwave safe; stackable, preferably chip resistant; (6x:
  • dinner plates (26cm approx),
  • medium plates
  • small plates,
  • bowls);

Research so far:
  • IKEA's VÄRDERA 18-piece set are the best rates on the site and are £35.00. There are lots of comments about them chipping easily though. They have a square-ish design. Cost roughly £2 per piece.
  • Sophie Conran for Portmeirion Dinnerware Set, White, 12 Piece, at John Lewis for £144.00. These are the most popular set at John Lewis. Way more expensive at about £12.00 per piece. All of the reviews are glowing.
  • John Lewis & Partners Stockholm Dinnerware Set, 12 Piece, Pebble, £45.00. The second most popular set at JL, but only one review? No negative comments anyway and less than £4 per piece
  • Cali 16 Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 4, available on Wayfair for £29.99. My girlfriend picked these out and I'm tempted to go with them. The reviews are pretty good, apart from the occasional report of them arriving chipped. Less than £2/piece
  • Pantelleria 18 Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 6, available from Wayfair for £73.99. These are roughly twice as expensive per item as the other stuff I've been looking at. There aren't enough reviews to give me much reassurance but my girlfriend has these as her favourite. Just over £4/piece

So far, it's difficult to tell what's going to last and is good value. I think for now I'll go for the Cali set. They look cheap and cheerful and I'll get brownie points for going with girlfriend's choice. Any advice appreciated!

    Bought the Ikea FLITIGHET 18 piece set along with matching deep plates (6 off) last year for £25. Good value, and if the lodgers break anything, cheap to replace as individual plates/bowls are available.
    Her courage will change the world.

    Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

    We've had this for quite a few years now, dinner and side plates plus bowls, bought the same for our daughter, oven/microwave/dishwasher safe (been in our dishwasher many times).

    Oh, yea gods, just buy whatever you fancy! TKMaxx is a good source.

    There's no way I'd pay much for everyday crockery, though.
