Dull at the moment but we are expecting very high temps today.
OH has an appointment at Grantham this afternoon, air con will deffo be needed in the car, it will be melting if the temps climb as high as they say.
DD1 is on her way over to sign the paper work for our LPA's, I just have to get DD2 to sign and they can go off to be registered and everything is in place. Expensive business, but worth it in the long run.
OH has been out and watered the garden before it gets too hot, watering in the mornings means there is less slug damage.
Fritatta and salad tonight I think, its too hot for anything else......0 -
Morning everyone....just been having a catch-up. Been a bit of a stressful few days with little grand daughter. Friday night DD had to take her to hospital as her feeding tube was blocked and couldn't be rinsed out....luckily they were seen quickly and problem was sorted....but it's a 3 hour round trip. On Sunday night her breathing was really strange....so back in by ambulance....fine again by the time she got there. She has chronic lung disease as a result of being so premature....so they said it was a symptom of that. Then last night she pulled her feeding tube out! So DD rang and was told thy wouldn't do anything through the night, so she left with her at 7.30 this morning, prepared to be thee a few days....but hoping not to be.
I'm going on holiday to Majorca tonight which isn't exactly the best timing, but DD says to go so I will. I stay at Edinburgh tonight then fly in the morning. Eldest DD is flying from Stockholm to meet me there. I'm really looking forward to it though feeling very stressed about baby and DD.0 -
Morning everyone
Not posted for ages but I do read along. Just got home after night shift and I am now ready to sleep, feels warm already, but need to sleep as got 3 more nights to do.
Ds2 is still working in France. I’m off to see him again in August. Looking forward to seeing him. The campsite he is working on has a water park so when he is working I can relax a bit hopefully.
Dd has fractured her arm and is struggling with the 2 dgs. She can’t drive at the moment but a friend is helping her. Hopefully she will get the all clear in a couple of weeks.
Not much o/s occuring as working 12 hour shifts.not looking forward to the journey in tonight on the underground it will be hot. Trying to take healthy food to work and not be tempted to get a takeaway with everyone else. Finish Friday morning so have got the weekend off, have arranged to meet friends on Sunday afternoon.
Hugs to anyone that needs/wants one. Take care.
Dp1 just read your update, sending hugs to you and dd & dgd0 -
dp1 I hope you can manage to relax on holiday, even just a bit. Must be so worrying -as mum to a very premature child, I know how it can feel.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0

Hi everyone,
The chap came to deal with the wasp nest in the back garden, didnt take him long,I was surprised to see how many came out  even though I thought it was fairly small. After a couple of hours they had all disappeared to the relief of one of the neighbours working in their garden. I popped up the road to see Auntie as soon as he'd done, she's been away with her eldest DD to York and had a lovely time including afternoon tea at Bettys. Her DD arrived shortly after me so that was nice to have a catch up with her too.
A loaf in the bm is smelling delish, nearly ready to come out. Also got a sourdough loaf proving, although what possessed me to need the oven on in this weather ?:o
Dp1 hope dgd is fine soon ,but try and enjoy your holiday too,I know it must be hard.
Hi TopsyT- hope you can sleep
Holly, sounds like you had a nice day, enjoy the seaside today

Hello all
It's hot, hot hot here, but thunderstorms are forecast for this evening .
DGD did very well with sewing up the unicorn and then carried it around all afternoon. She decided to call him Harry and we had a birthday party for him on the patio, complete with "the song". Next door must think we're mental :rotfl:
This morning we've been to the surgery to collect Mr Fix It's script, on to the pharmacy to get it filled, to the wood shop to order the fence panels, then called in the 'van to put back the cleaned carpets and fit a shelf. Lastly ended up in Al*is for bread, milk, fruit, a lemonade stock up and lots of ice lollies. When we came home I found that DD had called in and left me a large bouquet of flowers :T.
The mattress topper is airing on the patio and the WM is on. The green waste bins have been emptied so this afternoon I will go out and fill them again. However at this moment I'm sat in front of our very large fan and I'm sooooo comfortable I don't want to move !!
dp1 I do hope you can have a relaxing holiday. I am sending lots of love and healing vibes for your DGD too.
Scarlett nice to see you back, hope you had a lovely break. We have to wait til Sept for our next one
Csaina good luck with the appointment.
Hugs to anyone in need.
Take care and cool :snow_laug

extremely hot in Kent today I had to do a tip run with one of my DGS and when we went to load the car up in was reading 41c so on went the air con PDQ, and even then it only dropped to 37c. I have done nothing but drink endless cups of tea today to try and keep rehydrated. Off to Pub Quiz tonight and I really have eaten very little today as I find when it very hot like today I just can fancy eating much, still good for the waistline at least.
going to be even hotter tomorrow apparently, DGS Henry is out hedge cutting with the ground maintenance gangs and I do feel for him as he has to wear long sleeves and overall trousers bless him , He's even agreed to do overtime this Saturday ,but he is stashing his cash towards Uni in September. They seem very pleased with him as he is a real grafter. DGS Jack was due to have a day off today but got called in because someone hadn't bothered to turn up.he works in a coffee concession inthe local shopping mall and he too works all hours for his Uni bank account. Both lads are hard workers and never turn work down They really have got a good work ethic bless them.
Their older brother is off work now until he starts teaching at his new school in September, so he has been doing odd jobs around the house and garden for his Mum and Dad .The youngest Mikey is my cup of tea maker and will happily make me as many as I need
Right time to get a wriggle on as I am off to the pub just after six to sort out my team
have a good evening chums and try to stay cool

Thanks everyone for your good wishes. Little grand daughter's feeding tube is back in and she's had an xray and a feed to make sure its in the right place and working properly. They're on their way home now, but unfortunately I'll miss them as I will have left for my train. I was having doubts about going away on holiday this morning, but i'm ok now.
I'm staying at Edinburgh tonight then fly at 7.30 in the morning...so up early. Eldest DD flies from Stockholm at about 7 and arrives just before me. Really looking forwarding to relaxing, but will have youngest DD and the little one on my mind.
I'll 'see' you all in a week, I'm going to have a week off the internet...well I will read the news.
take care everyone...you really are all so supportive on here0
