A moan

Today I sold a heavy item - nearly 50kilos. The buyer wanted to send it to a click and collect point. I checked and there is a weight limit of 15k and a size limit which it also exceeds. I refund the buyer and explain why I can't send it and why I can't send to a different address. Buyer is not happy, I have inconvenienced him, the refund takes 3-4 days, I could have sent it elsewhere... He is going to get his refund and buy it off someone else at a higher price.

I think you possibly jumped the gun by refunding straight away. Maybe you could have messaged the buyer explaining the limitations of click and collect and what did he want to do instead. Then the ball is in his court, and it's his choice

My thoughts were if I dispatched to somewhere other than the Paypal address I would lose any protection offered by Paypal.

that is correct, so you cancel, relist immediately and he can buy it with another address as the send-to address

Unless the buyer wanted to come and collect it in person there's not much to be done really, orders should only be posted to the eBay/Paypal address for the seller to be covered.

Did you cancel the order with the reason "there is a problem with the buyers address" or buyer wants to cancel. If not, you may have been given a defect.

I opted for 'there is a problem with the buyers' address'
After the arsey messages I blocked them too
