PIP mandatory reconsideration?

I just got my PIP back, better then I expected as my assessment wasn't very good.

I got Standard daily living (10pts) and enhanced mobility (22pts).

I thought it may go the other way.

I had a lot of issues with the assessor, she phoned me at home twice after the assessment, and feel that my care needs may have been overlooked, she phoned about my mobility needs, not once about the care needs and perhaps she didn't include information on that.

I'm torn over doing a MR though, I don't want to lose this award, however my care points have dropped a lot from my first assessment, where it was in the 20's.

I explained how I don't eat unless I'm prompted as I have extreme nausea and sickness, and when I've been left haven't eaten at all, this has been overlooked and 0 points given. The same all over.

I'm worried to rock the boat though.

Asking for an MR could result in the whole award being reconsidered, with the potential risk to what has been decided.
In practice about 75% of MRs result in no change, however at Tribunal the success rate is high.

Being frank, but not judgemental...You simply need to be certain you can meet the descriptors for enhanced daily living, then decide if you want to go for an MR of the decision. You need the copy of the full assessment to make a decision, so request that. Then take advice from a charity who deal with your condition as that will point you in the right direction on whether to appeal. All the best
Remember when you judge someone, it does not define them ... You define yourself :j

Yes, I am certain I do, I did at my last assessment and my condition is the same, if not worse in some instances. Last time I scored in the mid 20s, this time 10.

There is also a contradiction in the summery. It states that I have issues with my musculoskeletal upper back, but in washing/bathing, I haven't been awarded for washing upper back/hair, even though I described why I cannot do this and need help. I have a disorder where my joints are not stable, and my shoulders are one of the worst.

Personally if I got at least one enhanced award I wouldn't be challenging it. You admit that you didn't expect to have a good outcome due to the assessment, but want to risk losing the whole lot or being downgraded.

I didn't have confidence after my assessment in moving from DLA to PIP & in my head I'd told myself that if I got standard on even just one of the catagories I'd just accept it & wouldn't put myself through the sheer stress of appealing.

Despite a report full of errors & no points where I definitely should have been given points, I was absolutely amazed to find that in spite of this I got an award of enhanced for both.

If you do decide to appeal, just make sure you're up to it & have as much up to date medical evidence to support your claim as you can.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

I understand what you mean, I told myself the same when I transferred over and also when I had the medical, but I suppose it's different when you get the result and consider it. I feel I've been ignored on the daily living component, and there are contradictions.

I will read the assessors report and see what it says. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do, of course I don't want to lose the award I have, but I do feel I haven't received the award I should have been.
