You wouldn't have been able to upgrade to 10 Pro from a Windows 7 Home licence anyway.

Is there any particular reason why you need Pro? Most of its benefits are for things most people wouldn't find or even use in a home environment:

No particular reason. I am fitting a new graphics card this week and plan on doing a fresh install of win10 to clear out some of the junk

If you don't have a reason to need Windows 10 Pro then don't bother going for it as you don't need to.

If you install W10 home then activate with a Pro license Windows will automatically install the additional Pro features. Which you won't notice.
