Solicitor taking an age

8 months for us. Wrong names, wrong forms. 'Quote' given at the outset. Max. figure has been charged ("errors not charged for") "You can check our time sheets". In my 40 years of dealing with solicitors, this has not raised my 'expectations'. They treat you like cr*p and expect you to put up with it/pay. PITA0

As probate has now been granted I'd expect almost everything to be sorted out within 4-6 weeks, except for any property that needs to be sold or reregistered with the Land Registry, and any delay needed for claims against the estate.
For most things it's just sending out copies of the Grant and waiting for the cheques to come back.A kind word lasts a minute, a skelped erse is sair for a day.0 -
The time it takes with all the sending of forms for signing, then send back to them is a pain. These always seem to arrive on a Friday when they do so you then lose time due to the weekend etc...I guess they must have have set days when they look at our file potentially. I’d rather they just rang and said can you come in and sign rather than wait for the post. Posting stuff and signing stuff seems very old fashioned in the current day, you’d think there would be a better way by now but realise the legality reasons etc0
