New build plan different from show home

Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with this?
There's a slight difference in the plan of the new build compared to the show home. It's the position of a radiator in the hall.
In the show home the radiator is at a narrow part of the hall which leads to a wide area which was furnished with a table etc. This was a selling point for me.
The actual plan of the house shows the radiator in the spot where the table is preventing it from being furnished.
The house isn't yet built. Would it be feasible to get them to change it to the show home position? I have asked but not received a response.

Hi, you should have been shown a plan of your house and on this it would show you where all of your sockets, radiators, etc will be. Did they not do this?0 -
Yeah they showed it & I highlighted that it was different.
We've asked it can be moved but not still awaiting a response.0 -
If you haven't exchanged contracts yet then everything is (in theory) up for negotiation.
If you have, then read your contract. It almost certainly gives them flexibility to make minor changes like this.0 -
Yeah, i's only at the reservation stage just now. The sale won't be concluded for a couple of months yet.0

Developers normally don't like to deviate unless you are paying. There will be small print which states the show home is simply that...........0

It's feasible. We positioned every radiator in our house exactly where we wanted it when we replaced the CH. It's hardly a difficult thing to do, especially on a new house.Needadvice2 wrote: »The house isn't yet built. Would it be feasible to get them to change it to the show home position? Whether the developer wants to make it feasible is the question, and only they can answer it. There may be a cost involved.0 -
What stage is the build at? If first-fix plumbing hasn't gone in, then it's a doddle. If floors/walls have gone in, it's a lot harder.
Personally, I'd prefer the rad to be in the wider area, because in the narrow area it's going to be more of an obstruction... Maybe they realised that after feedback from viewers of the showhome, which is why it's been moved?0 -
It can be changed if the work's not been done.
Most radiator placements are annoying

Put it in writing to the builders with clear instructions as to where you want the radiator placed on the wall.
Ask your solicitor to make sure this is done0 -
Why would a radiator prevent the placing of a table, unless you want the table touching the wall ? Both our home and static caravan have a radiator by the dining table and it's just a matter of leaving a little space.
As above,I would prefer the radiator in the larger space as presumably the narrower space is only for passing through.0
