Southampton Cruise Parking

What do people do for this, it all looks a bit expensive from £120-180 for my 16 night cruise!!
I'm half thinking of just leaving my car on a random but safe road - bit antisocial, but one big saving to be made!
What do you all think?

You make a good point about the cost of parking. We are going on our second cruise with Saga (no jokes please!) in September and you get a chauffeur transfer from your house to the port and back included in the price of the cruise. Sometimes a cruise line that appears more expensive on initial viewing can work out more evenly matched when you weigh up what is included. Saga for instance include tips and have free WiFi as well as other benefits, although of course you do have to be over 55. Having sailed with four cruise lines, it is probably our favourite so far, but that’s just a personal view. I’m sure others would disagree.0

I agree with you.
Picking me up at home and returning me to home after a cruise is one comfort I would gladly pay for.
Leaving the car on an isolated road is asking for trouble.
Would the insurance company pay if the car got stolen or damaged?
Sometimes it does not make sense to be penny wise and pound foolish0 -
Parking is a pain in Southampton, and you'd need a taxi from wherever you were able to park. I know one or two places from going to watch football there but I normally go in by train and I wouldn't leave my vehicle long term.
Is rail not an option? I see plenty of cruise passengers when I pass through the central station.0 -
Even allowing for transport and tips Saga is pricey. In view of what cruise has already cost you, is an extra £100 for secure parking a huge extra?0

Have you looked at the cost of trains with a rail card? We often do this option with a taxi costing under £10 from the rail station to the terminal0
