if you need 7 seats and a bigish boot theres not much to go at.

    ssangyong rodius

I will check if some of the Zafiras had recalls done. And yes I will need 7 seater and boot space.

You don't get a huge amount of space in the back of a Zafira or similar when using all 7 seats.

Petrol or diesel? What's your predicted annual mileage? Will you be driving in the expanded ULEZ zone?

You'll be looking a suitcase stood up or a small pushchair. The back too seats are for small people only with limited leg room.

That's what i mean. The OP would need a roof box or a trailer (but would need to have passed a trailer test) to go on holiday with anything meaningful.

I remember when I was a child in the 70s, we went on holiday in a ford escort popular (old P reg). There were 4 of us in the back

What you want is a Peugeot 504 Familiale.
    7 seater with a boot.
Exempt from ULEZ and road tax.
But of course it will have all the "quirks" of a classic car.
And you'll probably have to import it from France.

Just stick the mother in law there...
Zafiras are probably the best value as there are so many of them. Just make sure the safety recalls have been done.

I did notice recently how cheap Zafira's are, but then you look at the adverts for breaking and spares and there are way more than anything else with the Insignia a close second, they are super cheap also.

You could have my 'old' Chevrolet Orlando - 2014 63 plate. 2.0 VCDi Diesel engine.

(we actually just traded it in to Kia Grantham, it's still there though!) 64K, Full history. That would be way under your 6.5K budget. Ours was the LT so plenty of kit too.

They'll be fine towing with a zafira no need to pass another test.

Yes the OP will if he has only passed his test in the last 5 years and needs a trailer with more than 750kg MAM.
