You don't necessarily need a soundbar.

Do you have a HiFi system, a music replay system, in the same room as the TV?

No- This is in the bedroom

It says "Just connect it via Bluetooth, USB or an optical audio connection"
    Which I assume is input
Just buy it and then open another thread asking why you can't connect it.....;)
Or, even more radical, buy a new TV....:D

One confusing thing is you say you have 32 inch in the bedroom but the link you put up refers to 29 inch ??

So assuming the link to tv is correct ...
Connect via portable in on soundbar to headphone socket on tv (3.5mm male to male cable needed)
    Got similar in conservatory

Bluetooth used for pairing with phone /Tablet to play music from

USB used for connecting flash drive

No optical on that tv you put the link up to so no use

I know it`s only a cheap one but to be honest it will be plenty good enough for your bedroom and a vast improvement on what you have already

The same one is only 59 quid on amazon
    Have a nice day :)

Yes, the soundbar you linked to can't connect except via Bluetooth or optical. If you read the question and answers on the linked page, someone had already asked the question about a headphone socket.
Or, keep the TV and find another soundbar that can connect to what you have.:)

In short: That Soundbar won't work on your TV it is.

Option 1: Look for a better soundbar with a HDMI input.
Option 2: Look for an older TV with an optical SPDIF output.
Option 3: Keep the TV, buy that soundbar, get some sort of adapter box in the middle.

Option 1 is probably the best, and cheapest in the long term
(Although I could be wrong, I often am.)

Bluetooth = connects to your phone
USB = Connects to a USB stick
OPTICAL = Connects to a TV, but not yours.

It does connect - 3.5mm audio leads
Which, though not brilliant - works !
and is MUCH much better than the TV speakers

That would requre the TV to have an HDMI OUTPUT. Very unlikely. If you mean using ARC, the TV and soundbar would both need to support this, and I don't think the TV does.
I am due to collect tomorrow

You've decided on a soundbar, committed to collect it, THEN ask to see if it's suitable?! Glad you got sorted, but next time, ask first!
