Csarina, how about a swivel chair and a lower thinner worktop? Instead of having the entire quilt laid out flat, slide it back and fore like an ironing board type thing? If it was this shape [sort of ] _H_ without the top two bits of the H, it could puddle either side of the main top. Just thinking aloud though, hope your back improves or at least doesn't get worse. QUOTE]
Unfortunately I have osteoporosis in the base of my spine, its more likely to get worse than better. I do find it difficult to iron sitting down do not seem to be able to get enough pressure. I use an extra large ironing board so I do not have to shuffle things about too much.0 -

Hello, I wasn't going to post since I haven't anything interesting to tell you but I want to welcome Hollyharvey back and also to say hi and welcome to nanto3girls.
A friend has spent a couple of hours here and we've had about a gallon of tea, I've got towels drying on the line and it is warm but cloudy and a bit muggy-feeling. And really, that's the extent of my news, woeful really but I simply don't have much to say this week, other than boring you all to bits.
Update on the horror at the dentist, I forgot my antibiotics to deal with the infection which is the cause of needing all thus cripplingly expensive treatment. So they are meant to be in the post but I think they are using special tortoise post and my face aches quite a bit. In terms of the expense, yes we can lay our hands on the money, but that was not what it was saved for.
Oh well, another day of avoiding the ironing! I can't iron today, I have a sore mouth, that's a good enough excuse.
I do miss OLI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Thank you for the lovely welcome.
One thing i must clear up. I chose my username when DS2 was married.
His now ex wife had a daughter who was very young at the time.
We did treat her as another grandaughter, but we haven't seen her for years.
A bit about me, i have been married for nearly 51 years.Have 2 sons ages 47 and 50.
The eldest son, now divorced has 2 daughters ages 16 and 24.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone.0 -
Welcome nanto3girls, if you have been reading you will already know that there is a lovely friendly attitude here , which is wonderful when you need a lift to your spirits
I had a remembrance service for a cousin's husband this morning, followed by a get together in one of the daughters houses, unfortunately I had to rush off to the twin granddaughters 4th birthday party......one of them decided yesterday that she wanted her hair shorter to stop people mixing them up.....they don't like to dress the same either, very different personalities showing already.
It started to rain heavily while we were at the party, needs by garden but hopefully it won't stay for ever!
Those of you who have good weather enjoy it while it lasts.
Hugs to those of you who could do with one.

Afternoon all - and welcome to nanto3girls.
I have slept away most of the afternoon! Dreadful state of affairs indeed, however I must have needed it so won't feel too guilty.
Now I hope to remain sleepy enough for the night.
