BEWARE sneaky ulster bank 0% transfers

recently obtained ulsterbank credit card with 0% on purchases and balance transfers.I phoned thru and asked for a balance transfer to my current account of £2500. When the statement came in it was logged as a money transfer and carried interest. The bank are saying that the balance transfer can only be to another credit card but their own definition of a balance transfer is movement of money to another financial institution. When is a bank not a financial institution? Answer when it is a sneaky misleading bank whose call centre is run by robots who can not take on board a valid complaint.
be very careful as they will not allow a balance transfer to your current account !
any body have the same problem?

I don't think any RBS-parented credit card (Mint, RBS, Tesco etc) allow SBTs. They only do that via credit card cheques.

thanks its a pity that they fail to inform you of the interest at the time of the request.

If you explicitly asked them for a balance transfer, they should have explained that a balance transfer was not possible and that you could only have a cash advance with the associated charges. If they didn't explain this, give them the money back and demand the charges are refunded.
