A guy from my local buying and selling is asking for old tv and laptop. I have got an old laptop I wanted to dispose but wanted to remove the hard disc first and do not know how. Am not sure whether it can be started. Is it safe to give it away? Thanks

Does it currently work?
Without a hard disk it won't do much so if you remove it, which should be relatively straightforward, anyone taking it would need to put in a new one plus an operating system.Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0 -
I do not think it works guess best to remove hard drive and take it to rubbish tip.0

why not tell us the make and model of the laptop.
Even without a disk, and faulty someone on ebay will probably buy it0 -
There are hundreds, possibly thousands of videos on YouTube showing you how to remove a hard drive.
Search YouTube with your model name/number and "hard drive removal" or "hard drive replacement"
Take it out, give the laptop away or sell it, and put the drive in a drawer or at the back of a cupboard.0
