Putting In Decking. Poison Ground?

Planning to put a bit of decking in over some stones.
It fairly regularly sees weeds, so thinking I should water in some poison a few days before putting it in.
Is there anything else I should do?

    Forget the poison & put in some weed membrane instead..?

    Clear the ground of all growth as much as you can. Check for roots and as advised put some membrane down.
    Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid
