There are lots of alternatives. Have you checked to see who provides the type and speed of broadband you want in your area?Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0

At the moment there isn't much of an option for broadband only apart from with Virgin Media. Most providers use BT's network and therefore line rental is still required. A lot of the time it can be cheaper to just take the phone line, even if you don't use the phone.
There's mobile broadband but that has download limits.
Depending on where you live you could look at https://www.hyperoptic.com
https://www.cityfibre.com/residential/ - Will be an option in future, CityFibre is in partnership with Vodafone.0 -
Apologies, in my haste to read I missed the "no line rental" bit which does limit you.
Although I pay for line rental to get my broadband I have never plugged a telephone in and couldn't tell you my number. I just find it a necessary requirement for the broadband I want.Things that are differerent: draw & drawer, brought & bought, loose & lose, dose & does, payed & paid0 -
The so called phone line is the Data line the BB travels down .
Thats what you pay line rental for not for a phone .
LR may be bundled in with a BB package .

You can use absolutely any supplier you like. All except VM will require a BT-based line installing or reprovisioning. And all require you to pay line rental. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Have a look at vodafone0

I'll second that vote! ... left VM last year and much happier with Vodafone.0

Thank you very much for your replies....after 2 failed engineer appointments where Virgin failed to fix my fault by not turning up I have decided to finally leave.
A little confused....on my account it states that I do not have virgin broadband (I have no other services with them) but Im still getting broadband and have not as yet cancelled.
Where does this leave me....can I just walk away as Im not with them???
Really??0
