Preventing dog scratches on new PVC door

We have just got some new PVC and composite external doors and i would like to put something non destructive onto the doors to stop our small dog scratching them when he is looking back into the house, anyone here recommend anything? TIA

    Would sticky vinyl do it?

I thought about sticky vinyl but am unsure if it would damage the door when it needs to come off when it has to be replaced.

Just use a tar/glue remover and it should come off no bother. The only issue you'll have with anything you stick on the door is the door itself will slightly discolour over age leaving an obvious mark where it's been covered up.

TBH, my dog has been scratching the back upvc door for years with no obvious damage to the door.
