PPi Claim Company No Longer Trading

Options
Hello. I have found a car finance agreement for my car from 1990. There was Protected Payments Insurance added to it that i had no idea about, I have the agreement and paperwork.
1. Is this indeed another name for PPi?
2. Can i / how do i go about claiming it back?
I understand the FCSA only cover post 2005 claims, is that correct? Thankyou.

It's fifteen years prior to regulation of general insurance sales, so any car dealer you might complain to would not have to consider any complaint.
If the dealer is no longer trading then there is no one to complain to as FSCS does not cover any sales prior to January 2005.
