Debit card lost but need to return items

I had to report my NatWest debit card as lost yesterday.

I then realised that I have £55 worth of stuff with this particular that I ordered online from Debenhams that needs returning because the clothes don’t fit for one reason or another.

Will they refund this amount onto my new debit card or a different one in my name when it arrives? I don’t particularly want store credit or an exchange, just the money back in my bank account.

I’d usually just return them to store, I know I can parcel them back up and send it back via the post office before but never done it and not sure how safe it is

If the return is done through the on line store, even if the items are physically returned to a store, the amount will be credited to the card purchased on. It does not matter that the card is now lost, the amount will be credited to your bank account. The card does not disappear without trace, it simply means that using the card for purchases will be blocked. If the refund is done at the in store terminal that may present a problem if they insist on the same card.
