Living Room / Dining Lounge Lights

Hi All,

Any ideas on the ceiling light for the living / dining.

I have taken the wall out of the room and now its a lunge and has two points in the ceiling so I need two lights

I found these on John lewis

Limbo Semi Flush

Boyd Semi Flush

Any suggestions / recommendation

Thanks in advance

    Personal taste.

I don't have any ceiling lights - I use uplighters

Those circular LED's are gorgeous, but you can't change the bulb, can you? That's going to look awful when a couple of those circles are dark or flashing. Get the one with real bulbs IIWY.

Good point - wonder if the 5-year guarantee covers failed LEDs?

That's a general problem with fittings with multiple lights. If one bulb goes, even if you can change it a new bulb is unlikely to give the same colour/brightness as the remaining old ones.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

We have lights with multi bulbs in the living room, dining room and bedroom and I love them. Must say I've never noticed a difference when we've had to change a bulb. Most have 12 bulbs and the others have 8.

So basically I should not go with the integral ones?

I need to recheck with John Lewis what the 5 year guarantee covers.

Any more idea on the lights will be much appreciated.

Do you still have a dining table in there?

If it's centred, then I love a big dangly one :o

Over the dining table, that is. Lights as a feature are important to me and I have lots of quirky fittings.

I wouldn't worry about them matching either if the room is zoned. It's still important to distinguish between them. You can have something that isn't as deep in areas where you might walk under if you have low ceilings, but that isn't an issue over dining tables .

The first ones you linked to have been around for at least 20 years and don't involve much personality, imho. Chrome doesn't feature heavily in current interiors - it's every type of metal, or wood or plastic even, but chrome not so much.

I'd go hanging out in Homesense, Ikea or Dunelm. John Lewis do have beautiful fittings in store as well.

I'm missing my dangly rise and fall light over the kitchen table! Ceilings in my new house are too low for them and I think it's difficult to find interesting lighting without "depth". I'm hoping to fit a multi-drop pendant fitting in a corner as a feature.

I don't have the dining table at the moment but plan to have one soon before we move in.

The floor to ceiling height is 2.45 m

Will visit homebase, John Lewis and Dunelm yesterday to have the stock in their stores.
