What ram should I buy for my Laptop

I want to upgrade the ram in my laptop from 256MB to 1GB. I have a Digimate M-4522
I emailed Digimate asking if this type of RAM would be OK to install:
http://www.dabs.com/ProductView.aspx?Quicklinx=3SD7&CategorySelectedId=11150&PageMode=1&NavigationKey=11150,371920000,4294957152&InMerch=1
The emailed me back saying:
"We test and approved kingston KVR333X64SC25/512 MEMORY."
From what I can see this RAM is only 512MB & is expensive at around £50.00. http://shop.logicalmicro.com/INU_Products/INU_ProdDetailsL4.ASP?ref=29356072
Obviously I want to upgrade my RAM to 1GB & squeeze maximum performance for minimum outlay. Say around £20-£30 if poss.
Can anyone shed any light as to what I would be best purchasing? Will the one above from DABS be OK?

Try the auto advisor tool at Crucial Memories website0

Dabs also have the crucial tool built in to select the correct RAM for you....

In other words, your laptop takes DDR RAM, not DDR2. if the one from DABS was ok, DIGIMATE would have told you so.
Of course you can ignore them and go your own way. :rolleyes:0 -
The Kingston KVR333X64SC25 is DDR RAM, whereas the Dabs RAM is DDR2 and the two types are incompatible. The DDR RAM required by your laptop is older technology and therefore quite a bit more expensive.0

Cheers for that Donnie. I am not as tight as my name suggests (although my missus may disagree) so I think i'll go for the Kingston x 2!0 -
I'm not particularly enamoured with Kingston either.

When it came to it I just could pay the extra for the Kingston and went for this http://www.amazon.co.uk/ByteStor-PC2700-333MHz-SO-DIMM-Notebooks/dp/B00025E0JK/ref=pd_sbs_ce_1
Purely on the basis of customer recommendations of course!0
