Vehicle sold, pcn issued 3 days later, Letter of Claim from BwLegal

Hi all, I'll try keep my story as short as possible
We sold a vehicle 2 years ago. The new keeper got a parking ticket in a time restricted private car park 3 days later after sale.
The pcn letter came through post a few days later, i remember i phoned them and asked for guidance. However in the end i decided just to fill in the buyer details into that letter provided and post it back. Never heard back from them since then.
Two weeks ago we got a letter from bwlegal "we've been instructed by xx'x to.... blabla". I've ignored the first one but now i got a Letter of Claim along with a couple of forms asking financial details, and some 30 days time to respond threatening a Claim in County Court.
I've emailed them (bwL) briefly that i informed the parking company years ago of a keepers change and they shouldn't chase us for this pcn. And i advised them to follow it up with the parking company not us.
In an email reply they ask full name, line of address and postcode saying:
"Thank you for your recent email, the contents of which have been noted on file.
Should you wish to discuss this matter via email, please confirm the following:"
Should i confirm them those details? Should i continue communicating with them? I don't feel likely... In my email i gave them reference numbers. Also we updated the new keeper by post at that time, probably they got our name just a few days before the letter was received by dvla and updated.
I'm confident we can prove in court we were not the drivers neither keepers of that vehicle at that time.. but i don't want to get there and i rather sleep relaxed in the mean time.
Thx

As this is nothing to do with you I would be hesitant to get too involved. If you don't tell them who the new owner is then it's likely a court claim will drop on your mat.
Do you really want the rigmarole of defending a court claim when you could just tell them who you sold it to?
They got the ticket, they can sort it out.0 -
Do not ignore a court claim!
Contact the DVLA in writing and ask for confirmation that the vehicle changed hands and confirm you were not the keeper on the date of the alleged event.
As soon as you have that, tell the scammers and their scamlicitors in writing

Or let them take you to court and let them come a cropper. You might even get unreasonable behaviour costs.
They have been advised to consult the PPC, apparently they cannot be @rsed.You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
