Tax and NI claim for low earners

This has potentially been asked a million times so I apologise in advance, but I can't find an answer online.

I am currently in a paid job however I will be leaving to take up a Teacher Training course. This means that, come next April, I will have not earned over the £12500 tax threshold. However, as the company would have expected me to still be in employment, I have still been paying said Tax and National Insurance.

I know that I can claim tax back, or I will get a rebate, next April when the tax year ends. However does the same apply for National Insurance?

Thanks

    No
Completely different; NI is based on individual pay periods not yearly figure like tax.
