Met parking services

Hi everyone , I'm stuck on what to do about a parking fine from MET PARKING SERVICES, I've parked in the underground gym car for the past 12 years and on this particular occasion I parked in a bay that I've parked
In 100 times before and got a ticket, i was in the bay and reason for the ticket was out of bay so I appealed angrily and got rejected and i then realised that there trying to say "its no longer a bay and the faded markings indicate that" .i appealed to popla saying that if that's the case why didn't they put a sign up saying bay suspended or yellow lined it, they rejected too saying I have 28days to pay(6th july). I got the ticket 2 months ago and everyday people park there as they assume it's still a bay too , it's ridiculous and i refused to pay. There's plenty of parking outside and would not of parked there if i had known that they decided its not a bay. What can they do ? Can they send enforcement officers as they've threatened? And what can I do? Many thanks

You cannot do anything else apart from getting the Landowner to cancel it
Make sure you get photos of the bay and the signage asap and keep them and all paperwork for 6 years in case the PPC try a court case
You can then put your side to a judge
Nobody can come without a court order, so you are fantasising based on TV programmes, which means those enforcement people had court orders, they don't just knock on regardless0 -
Thank you very much0

Landowner complaint for sure.
12 years of loyal custom is a hefty & persuasive point in your favour when complaining.
'faded markings' indicate bay suspended!? Where I live everything's faded ... maybe I can park on barely visible double yellows then ... Point out the absurdity of the PPC's response to the landowner & Insist that they cancel the ticket.0 -
It is not a fine, it is an invoice for the damage they suffered when you parked so waywardly, a.k.a. a scam.
Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so complain to your MP.
Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.
Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Luckily MET never sue anyone, so ignore them now.
And I mean, ignore anything except a court claim (and tell them if you move house within 6 years, that's all).
Please no posts about debt collector letters, spare us! Covered in the NEWBIES thread.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
