Most cars these days have climate control which does tend to be more efficient as it will modulate the fan speed as required to reach the temperature set. Cars with just plain old aircon don't have the facility to control the temp so will just blast out coldThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. Ssangyong cars are obsessed with aircon.
The climate control puts it on even if you request max temp!
Maybe Koreans prefer very dry air?0 -
Doesn't it totally depend on the car? I'm looking for a car for comfort now, one I won't have to do much work on, been given the choice of either a renault clio or a citroen c1 and like i say it's about comfort for me so the Clio's better looks really don't matter...
And despite the cheaper price point of the C1, I know a friend with one and I'm having to turn it down because I know from his car that the AC is absolutely shocking... It makes no sense to me!
Why is this? & does anyone have any experience with the AC in the new shape Clio? Cheers0 -

I have a CX-5, 2018. I noticed when I set it to 20C as in my old car, it does'nt pump out chilled air, I have to turn it down to 18C, then back up when its cold enough.
We have a CX-5 at work and the air con is excellent. Even on the hottest day, within 200m it is blowing ice cold air out, with the windows up still it’s nice to sit in the car. My Outlander phev is cold but no where near as good. My old Astra J could put ice on the windscreen if left long enough.0 -
Ahhh the memories of old Vec-C, agree with others, possibly the best air-con I've ever had. Astra J was pretty good too.
Insignia now and good climate control once set up (never moves off 21deg all year round).
To the OP, go into the settings, there is a fan speed adjuster setting somewhere where you can tell it to get to temp quickly or normally, by default normally set to normal, I have mine on max and gets to temp within minutes on a really hot day and calms down after then, just maintaining the temp.Life isn't about the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away. Like choking....0
