economy 7 sorage heater query ?

I used to have economy 7 storage heaters in my last house. I didn't have to put them on as such. They were left switched on at the wall plug, and they automatically came on at the time set by the electric company (in my case, 12:30 - 6:30 or 7:00). You'll need to talk directly to the electric company to get the times they use.
If you put them on yourself at midnight are you sure you weren't using some sort of override (e.g using the convector heat) rather than the storage heater? My storage heaters had that option so I could boost it during the day but I avoided that as it was a very expensive way of heating.
I could tell when the storage heaters automatically went on (I can't remember if it was a "click" or a slight "hum") - can you tell with yours?0 -
Do you have E7 metering as well? If yes, then the meter timeswitch will switch them on as it hits off peak rate.
PP meters are also more expensive than credit metering so does it compare to your previous consumption?
Do you have any debts on the meter? Have you changed cards/keys etc recently?
Bare in mind that meter faults are rare.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0
