Proof of delivery

Options
Someone send me a parcel - signed for. When I entered the tracking number on the Royal Mail website there is a date of delivery, and a signature.
The signature is not mine, and in any case, I was not at home on that date.
How do I challenge this?

Check the location of the sorting office the delivery has come from. Is it your local one?

Maybe one of the ones that mark it as failed attempt to deliver, nobody home etc. when you have been in all day and no attempt has been made?

    Thanks for the replies.
No, I have not got the parcel. I suspect it was put in the recycling bin. A favourite for posties in our area.
Ebay not interested as seller has a tracking number and it is now between me and post office.
    Will go in next week.
    Very irritating.

I don't think the post office will be any help, but your local delivery office might.

What have the Post Office got to do with it?

You need to get in touch with the seller and ask them to dispute the delivery with Royal Mail. You need to contact your Royal Mail delivery office and lodge a disputed delivery. Take it from there.
