Get a heat pump dryer. We have had a dryer for years last one a vented one. We got this back end of March when we had a new kitchen and extension. Its very cheap to run compared with vented/condensing.

Some of the best washers are made by LG I was told this by a washing machine repairer Ours has worked flawlessly for 4 years now and has a 9KG load

We got a gas tumble dryer by White Knight and it is so quick and efficient compared to our previous Hotpoint

I wouldn't recommend LG because when my handle broke I couldn't find the part on espares. So I phoned LG and was advised the part was unavailable because they only keep spares for 2 years after production ends. But the washer/dryer was bought new from Curry's only 18 months earlier. I was lucky and found the spare part on ebay but it was in Australia which trebled the cost.
