Help - Which Wii Sports Pack?

Wonder if anyone can help - I've managed to buy the Wii Console and Wii Play and was looking at the Wii Sports accessory packs which contain the plastic golf club etc. There seems to be a lot of choice on Amazon and wondered if anyone can recommend which is the best one to buy? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Sorry if this is on the wrong board - wasn't sure where to post!

  • personally i wouldnt buy any of them.. you dont need them for the game and they are annoying bits of plastic

  • Agree with the above, you really don't need it, save your money and put it towards super mario galaxy - game of the decade apparently...

  • Okay thanks for the advice I won't bother (I did think you needed them to play the games) - what about the charging stations - is it worth buying one of those? Any recommendations?
  • Not really. Spend the money on games and a few batteries. Battery life is good anyway.
Who or what was I before you came in to my life
    I am not sure
  • charging stations for the remote is a MUST have...

go to argos and buy a game... you get a charging station (remote dock)half price (i assume offer is still on)... i spent £12 on batteries in a week for the remote when we first got our wii.. them someone pointed out the charging docks... what a pleb!

im not a a big fan of those charger units as they tend to knacker the rechargeable batteries.
i would deff recommend the following items:-

1 x decent mains powered battery charger
8 x fairly high spec NI-MH rechargeable batteries, prob somewhere around the 2100mah + range.
maybe something like this, but i cant vouch for either the batteries or the charger itself.

the reason for 8 is that the wiimotes use 2 batteries each, so thats 4 for your 2 wiimotes. charge all 8 up and keep 4 spare, so when one set of 2 goes dead u simply put 2 new ones in and recharge the dead ones while the 2nd set are being used.
  • Personally, I would say no. You still need to purchase the Nicad batteries to go in the wiimote. I bought a pack of 4 with a charger from Robert Dyas a while ago for about £8.
It is like all things like this that when they get popular they bring out bundles of tat trying to make a bit of money on the back of it. This stuff is aimed at people who don't really know what to buy but know someone who has a Wii so they might like it but its really just extra gubbins that is not needed...
I would recommend you buy an extra nunchuck because you only get the wiimote with Play.

'Quick! Grabbit while you can' is a pointer as to what should be posted here. Can't really see what we're grabbing here I'm afraid.:o
  • Thanks for all the helpful advice. My Wii Console bundle comes with an extra nunchuck so got that covered.
  • Leave the peices of plastic as everyone has been saying, they were included in the bundles in toyrus another reason why I refused to buy one even after waiting for 5+ hours in the cold. they were available when the wii was released so it isnt just someone jumping on the bandwagon creating somthing bceasue the wii is popular. sales people like to make you think it enhances the play and makes it more realistic for kids to play its rubish are they going to bring sword attachments out for red steel and zelda? I don't think so.

Batteries? It wiimotes do munch through them even when you think the wiimotes are switched off many times we have come to pick up for a 2 player after a month to find that the one that hasnt been used for a month the batteries are flat. the chargeing stations and battery packs I would go for rechargeable batteries as everyone else has said but have spare batteries as its a pain to have no batteries for the remotes.
