    How.

HSBC ran a similar cashback offer a couple of years ago...2% then IIRC.

    Yup, around August 2017

I rarely use my HSBC debit card.

IIRC the few times I have used it in the past has been to take advantage of other offers from them.

I'm guessing their 1% cashback offer is an incentive to get me in the habit of using it.

    Would you mind saying how?

1.25% via Amex platinum rewards perhaps?

    Got my first cashback.

It seems to cover all transactions up to and including 31st July.

I calculate I spent £178.74 and have received cashback of £1.79, so it seems accurate.

Each cashback is listed as a separate credit. It's a bit tricky to link a cashback entry to a purchase.

HSBC appear to be rounding transaction up or down to the nearest pound when calculating cashback. And they appear to give cashback on (non-financial) purchases via Curve.

We have started using our HSBC cards to top-up ISAs just incase they don't apply the exclusion correctly.

I figure it is no more effort so worth a try as we might get lucky.

Is this for Advance customers only? Who rarely/never use their debit card? I have got this promotion so have switched to using this card for a short while - also took part in the last promo when cashback was offered.

Other family members have the standard current account and have never received an offer like this.

I would qualify under those conditions. No such offer though.

I'm an Advance customer who has never used his debit card, no offer here either.
