Why not open an account with Starling, Monzo and Revolut and do ykur own research.0

So if there is any problem with Starling whilst you are travelling, you could get stuck with no money. Having at least one backup card / source of money is a good idea, especially so when you are away from home.having all our travel/holiday finances dealt with through 1 account would be very convenient.0 -

We always have a back up
The idea of convenience is because I am just lazy:rotfl:0 -
I live abroad and the Starling account is a godsend. However, what I don't get is why all the Brits out here still use Monzo and Revolut. Starling is better in every sense so I'm not sure why it's not used. I think Monzo must have a better advertising style, or people just like the pretty pink card.0

it could also be that many people these days do not use cash very often, so the Monzo limit on cash withdrawals is pretty irrelevant to them.
As far as advertising goes, I think maybe Monzo has the edge over Starling.
That Hot Coral (bright pink :rotfl:) card is much more noticeable than the very discreet teal blue of Starlings. Although I do like the simplicity of the Starling card.
Visit any social media site and you will see Monzo ads outnumbering Starling ads, the one exception maybe Youtube, where Starling do advertise heavily.
I also think many people see Monzo as the trendy bank whereas Starling is a bit more conservative.
I do have both a Monzo an Starling account, but I do agree with you, Starling is a better option overseas.
(And that little bit of interest usually gets me a free beer while away )0 -
It may have to do with the fact that you need to be a UK resident to hold a Starling account? I don't know whether Monzo and Revolut have similar restrictions. It's probably best not to shout too loudly about living abroad and having a Starling account. https://www.starlingbank.com/docs/Account%20Terms%20-%20Personal%20Current%20Account.pdfI live abroad and the Starling account is a godsend.
