PPi & Plevin claim after payout.

Hello all. Im new to this & struggling with it, so help is much appreciated. I had one PPi payout via Barclays in 2015 from Providian, Monument & Barclays (effectively same account). This was just sent to me, i never actually applied to claim it. My question is, there is no mention of Plevin in this, & as the PPI was still active in 2008 as required, can i separately now claim Plevin or is it dead because i had a payout. Thankyou.

No. If your complaint was upheld, you received a full refund. There's nothing left to be refunded.

Ok. i was under impression Plevin applied much later than the original ruling so if you received an early PPi payout, it wouldnt have been subjected to Plevin? It appears im mistaken. This is so confusing & difficult to navigate especially if you have problems. Thankyou.

A full refund of premiums + interest kills a Plevin complaint as you’ve been put back in the position you would have been in had you not taken it (I.e no sale and no commission).

    it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
    their - 'owned by them'
    they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)

You've already received a full refund of all PPI (including any commission), therefore Plevin does not apply and is irrelevant.

Plevin refunds any commission above 50% of the premium (e.g. if the commission was 60% of the premium then you get a 10% refund). Whereas an upheld complaint returns 100% of the premium.

So, if you have already had 100% returned, then there is nothing else to return to you. Plevin applies to rejected complaints. Not upheld complaints.

Really confusing, but thankyou. I think that clears it up.
