PPi Loan Paperwork

Hi everyone. First post on here. I had 5 loans from Barclays from1997 to 2004. i have all the bank statements obviously showing when they were takeen out, how much and the repayments, but not the original loan agreement annoyingly. Im sure i had PPi on most if not all the loans. As i have statements, do i just put claims in for each one or do i need to contact Barclays first to get more information (or a copy of the agreement if they have it.....Mmmm)

The PPI premium, if paid, would appear on the loan statement as it would increase the balance of the loan.

Thankyou for the reply. There is no 'loan statement', just my main bank account statement showing when the loan was paid in and subsequently how much per month was paid back. It never showed a separate loan and PPi figure per month, it was a single set figure referred to as Loan Repayment

Sorry, I thought you were referring to the loan statement. The PPI would appear on that but not on your bank statement.

Thats ok. So what would be the correct approach? Do i do a Barclays website check & trust the result? Do ijust claim each one using the statement info i have? I know this sounds daft but im sceptical that the bank will be up front with confirming what i had, so annoying as i have always kept everything, but dont have the agreements. I struggle to deal with things like this. Thankyou.

Barclays have been bending over backwards to be helpful. They have been bringing long archived data back onto their systems voluntarily in attempts to ensure what they have is available. Not many banks have been as thorough as them.

Hi SonOf. Thankyou for your reply. Thats really good to know. As i have statements, dates, amounts etc hopefully that will prove easier to find. Does anyone know if the Barclays on line checker has the facility to add information like i have such as dates etc or is it just an automated generic enquiry form? Thankyou

Never used so don't know, have a look.
If they need more info than you can add to the form I'm sure they'll contact you.

if you require more information than simply if you had PPI, you'll need to submit a Subject Access Request (SAR)
Make haste, the deadline is very close.
