drilling into bottom of steel lintel

Hi
I am about to fix a blind in the bathroom a couple of inches in front of the window so will need to drill holes straight up into the base of the steel lintel. Is this advisable because of potential damp problems? My other alternative is to use no nails but I don't know whether that would be strong enough.
Many thanks for any advice.

Thank you kitchen buff. I didn't expect an answer that quick. I was just a little concerned that I would be drilling into a hollow steel lintel at the base of the wall cavity.
Thanks again I'll get drilling.
