G24 - Gladstones Letter Before Claim

G24 - Gladstones Letter Before Claim:

This is my first ever post & my first letter i have received from G24 for the PCN on 3 different dates back in 2017.
The site is next to High Wycombe Hospital which i was visiting the hospital car park is always full, so i use the Office Outlet on Queen Alexander Road.
I never received any letters about these fines and have since moved addresses.
I have a letter before claim from Gladstones giving me 14 days to pay nearly £500 which is ludicrous.
I have no defense as i cant even remember the day or the parking sign?
I cannot pay this fine in 14 days as they want a full amount & the phone number is an automated line so no-one is there to speak to.
I've looked at the treads an can see green shoots of people winning but my worry is i have no defense.
Is there an option to pay the fine in small amounts as 14 days to pay all is something i cannot cover?
Thanks & i hope you reply?

That isn't a Letter Before Claim. A genuine Letter Before Claim gives you 30 days to respond and contains financial information forms.

Unless you mean you received the letter 16 days ago and now are down to 14 days?

Then we can help you on here, if you need reassurance about G24 being nothing. That poor poster has just posted their important Witness Statement for comments and your case which will never go to court and is only about G24, has confused the matter.

No advice needed, except, please search the forum for G24 and tell us when the retailer Store manager cancels it for you when you complain, as the NEWBIES FAQS thread tells you to do. All G24 PCNs are easy to get cancelled and never go to court.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
CLICK at the top or bottom of any page where it says:
Home»Motoring»Parking Tickets Fines & Parking - read the NEWBIES THREAD

Stop trying to call them. DO NOT CALL THEM ever. If they ever call you, hang up, do not enter into any conversation. Everything must be in writing.

Now, go to the NEWBIES sticky thread in this forum, and read it. Then read it again. Undertand how you will have a defence. Then prepare for the next step from Gladstones. While you're waiting, you may as well pre-empt whatever is going to happen by submitting a Subject Access Request to G24.
  • I'm sorry if i posted on the wrong thread as i mentioned it was my first post.
This happened 2 years ago in 2017 which all 3 PCN's where issued acordindly to G24 in the space of a few days.
The letter i received which was today and the only one i have ever seen.
Has you have 14 days to pay your charge from Gladstones.
I'm going to look at the other pages and will delete from the other thread.
    Thanks

That's a straight forward scary letter that you can ignore. So far G24 resisted the urge to venture into court. Whilst this may change one day it's unlikely they will chance their first ever court case on anything other than a dead cert.

Ignore everything except a proper LBC or court papers. It's extremely unlikely you will get either.
  • Hi - similar situation here. Don't wish to hijack but may be relevant to yours also.

Maybe it's worth noting that Office Outlet was wound down by administrators in June so we can't really complain to the retailer to cancel.

G24 have not given us any info on the landowner or the contract in their reply to the SAR, I would have thought we could at least get pics of the signage.

You are not entitled to that information in a response to a Subject Access request.

A SAR is to retrieve personal data only - which they are not.

Of course you do, read the stickies.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams so consider complaining to your MP.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, persistent offenders denied access to the DVLA database and unable to operate.

Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers, but until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies. FAQs.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
