  • I've done the DFW/MSE version of that hamper. i've replaced all the items in the F+M hamper with Tesco equivalents for us more discerning hamper buyers.....(because what do we need with a 14 pound jar of chunk comb honey? :rotfl: )

    It contains

    Tesco Value Coffee 100g 38p
    Tesco Detox mask 97p
    Tesco Value Liver pate 43p
    Tesco Value Balsamic Vinegar 99p
    Tesco Salmon fillets (8) 9.99
    John West Caviar 1.48
    Tesco Cava 3.76
    Tesco demi sec Cava 3.76
Tesco Value Iced Fruit Cake 2.79
    Tesco champgane flutes 97p
    Lambini (cherry obviously) 1.99
Tesco Value milk chocolate eclairs 40p
    Tesco Value mild cheddar 1.10
    Tesco Blue Stilton 1.50
    Tesco sandwich ham 1.32
    Tesco Champagne (20cl) 4.49
    Tesco Truffles 1.00
    Tesco Ruby Port 4.38
    Tesco leaf tea 59p
Twinings tea bags 1.99 (on bogof so you get double!!) :D
    Tesco Chardonnay 2.98
    Tesco Value Christmas pudding 98p
    Tesco Value Snowballs 31p
    Tesco Armagnac 14.99
    Tesco Value notebook 43p
    Tesco Value honey 61p
    Tesco Party Selection 1.04
    Tesco lime marmalade 54p
    Tesco Value lemon curd 35p
    Tesco Value Kitchen Roll 1.05
Tesco luggage tags 12.00 (ouch!)

Presented in a load of British plastic carrier bags :rotfl:

now, I know that a packet of Tesco sandwich ham isn't the same as a 5.7kg piece of Highgrove ham but you'd be sick of it after a couple of days, surely?? And, I reckon we've all got a caviar glass dish in the cupboard somewhere so obviously Tesco don't need to sell us one of those  I'd also pick up a freeby magazine or leaflet or two instead of their dreary 300 year book!

Fortnum and Mason total: £20,000

MSE/DFW Hamper total: £84.07 :T :rotfl: :p (and that's with the fancy leather luggage tags!!!)

    Tesco............because every little £19,915.93 helps.........

and do gentlemen need jewellery boxes? the ones I do certainly don't!
the cashmere socks would just bring me out in a rash anyway.

I'd rather have champagne than cava but could still bring it in for less than £100. I see the cherry lambrini snuck in there all by itself...

A good box, is like it's own little jewel...
