And who do you think will be better off on the whole over the long term?

Those who started mortgages and pension plans at the start of their career and can expect to be mortgage free with a decent pension?

Or those who decided to speculate?

I would expect many people to find that their pension is nowhere near the golden egg that was sold to them, it depends when they need it, and many recent mortgage debt holders could find themselves in a lot of pain if credit conditions change. As always your financial advice is just a list of what you have done, it isn`t really anything radical or helpful, you are just hoping that your long term bets pay off.

    Quickly followed by landlords.

Landlords letting to the weakest and very weakest are recession proof. The poor are always with you. And shelter is a primary need. People will eat their boots before they stop paying their rent, and unlike high-level apparatchiks and City traders, they aren't going to leave the UK unless we have total armageddon (which a recession or even a Brexit Depression is not). The risk is at the other end of the market where people are cost conscious.

And then we can all be happy then, what a great plan, burn the whole house down and put everyone on the street because you was not happy with the bedroom you thought you was entitled to.

No, not hoping, it already has paid off. I can live rent free for the rest of my life, 40 years or more.

People who suddenly find their pension insufficient have not been taking proper responsibility for reviewing it on a regular basis.
There should be no surprises for people who take responsibility as you should review and adjust regularly to meet your goals.

No crossing fingers here but proper planning and taking responsibility.

Most balanced thing you have posted in a while probably. Cheaper houses are good for landlords who want to run a business and provide a good service, because they do provide a good service for the most part, but individuals should be limited to no more than two BTL`s with council houses taking up the slack (hopefully JC is on the case) Running two BTL`s should be a nice little business like running a B and B, some tax but not too harsh and rents at a sensible level. The problems start when people try to hoover up hundreds of properties and jack up rents, eventually they hurt tenants and then themselves.

I've never seen signs of her being fearful, where are you picking that up from?

    It's a right funny market....

One I was kind of thinking about viewing just sold in 5 days.
The 1000 I haven't fancied enough to view are sitting there 3-4-5 months later.
One that came to market sold quickly, then was relisted as the chain fell apart, I saw it the next day and offered, somebody else got it the next day as I am in a chain and they're not.

Everything you post is clearly to rectify your insecurities in life. Who on earth would want to create a country where there are no jobs and it is in financial meltdown in order to get what they want?
You want Corbyn in power, Brexit delivered and pretend to be a spokesman for the tenants of the UK when we all know this is about you alone, God help this country if there were more like you. You are critical about how things are today, it seems because you are not anywhere near the social standing you believe you should be at. But I suggest you do a little research and see what housing conditions were like for many in the UK, even only 50 years ago it was dismal for many. You might not be in the housing you think you deserve, but the fact is housing is todat far better for the majority
