Fords at dagenham

Hi Martin Lewis,

I am a huge fan of yous

I would love to hear from you in relation to an extreme case of fraud, malpractice and shoddiness I have ongoing with ford's at dagenham in essex

they are not fit to be administering MOTs - they allowed me to drive my car away, saying my MOT had been completed when they hadnt screwed my breaks into place - i am lucky to be alive!

since then i have spoken with the manager of the site, he promised me a full refund, he has since then been ignoring me

i look forward to hearing from you

Did you crash? Are you ok?

Anyway, I'm sure Martin will be along soon to deal with your concerns.

That's why they are called 'breaks' ;)

They didn't 'unscrew' your brakes for an MoT either.

    Shoddiness is a fair description.

However, what was obviously a simple (but very serious) mistake does not constitute fraud or malpractice.

I didn't know Fords did MOTs actually at Dagenham.
The "breaks" aren't dismantled for MOT purposes, so unless the garage were doing repairs required by the MOT, the problem was there before.
This thread should be in the motoring section. . .

So did they give your car a pass on the MOT with obviously malfunctioning brakes? If so, complain to the DVSA as they are the organisation that exist to do something about MOTs not being performed correctly.

Very strange that they "unscrewed" something to do the MOT test on the brakes though as my understanding was that testers are not permitted to dismantle the car to inspect / test it. At least, that's what a couple of testers have told me.

Trust Ford's Barking do. Listed as Dagenham branch, used to be Dagenham Motors. I find them really slow there and always over booked but ok otherwise.
