National insurance on second, self employed job?

Apologies if this isn't the correct board to post this in, however I am just about to set up a side business in addition to my regular PAYE job.

I am trying to work out how much to set aside each month from this second, self employed role for when I need to file my tax return and I am getting a bit confused in regards to National insurance contributions.

On the GOV website it mentions a category J (2%) - Employees who can defer National Insurance because they’re already paying it in another job

As I already have another full time job which is the bulk of my earnings each year, does this mean I fall under category J and only need to set aside 2% each month for NI contributions for the second job?

I have seen a few articles online which contradict this so wanted to check before getting too excited :)

Unless you already earn more than the NIC upper earnings limit on your main job (i.e. over £50k or so), no, you'll be liable to class 2 and class 4 NIC on your s/e income if you breach the relevant lower earnings limits for those (separate limits for each).
