Help really stuck with Car Finance PPI

Hi
I purchased a new car in 2001 from my local authorised VW Dealer using a VWFinance loan over 3 years. Included in my policy was PPI which I am now looking into with regards to mis selling.
The company are no longer there and I cannot find out for sure what became of them, wether they were taken over, or closed down. I have been communicating with VWFS via Resolver tool but they are not sure what became of the dealer either.
Does anyone have any advice on how I can proceed? Obviously because it predates 2005, the FSCS are unable to assist.
Thanks in advance!
Chris

There's nothing more you can do. You have no one to complain to and it's pre-regulation.
Put this one behind you.0 -

Car dealers did not become regulated until 14th Jan 2005. So, you bought prior to regulation.
You give up as its pre-regulation and you have no-one to complain to.Does anyone have any advice on how I can proceed?0
