Are you sure that a life insurance payout becomes part of the estate, if there is a named beneficiary of the policy? It just seems doubtful to me.
I wasn’t clear from the phrasing of the opening post whether she is actually named on the policies.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0 -
I doubt it if they haven't been together for 20 years. I'm pretty sure that the form asks if you have been living together.
Surprisingly I can see nothing on the form or in the online guidance that requires claimant to be living with deceased at time of death - simply to be married or in civil partnership. (However it would be consistent with fact that it cannot be claimed by people living together if not married or in civil partnership.)Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated.
