lenovo ideapad not charging

I've got an 18 month old Lenovo Ideapad 110S tha was working fine but now wont charge or switch on. I've tried different plugs and bought a new charger, but still nothing.

The main thing I need is to get at a couple of files on there.
Any ideas?

    Power pin is probably broken.

If it uses a normal drive or a normal SSD you can usually get the drive out and pop it onto an enclosure that you plug in via USB.
  • so use it like an external hdd? or could I change the power pin?

You could do both, but it depends on how the power pin is done inside the laptop. If its part of the main board it's going to be a soldering job. Looking at the pure model number it looks like it is part of the board.

The pins themselves are relatively cheap, you can get them from eBay sellers as a shot to nothing if your skills with a soldering iron are up to spec.

That laptop appears to use a standard 2.5" drive so you can get an enclosure and just pop it in to use it like an external hard drive.

if your laptop is the 32gb version like this below, the the disk is emm storage and has no 'drive', unless you put one in, or got the more expensive version, and you are stuffed.

then there is this method to test
