MPPI claim is it too late?

Hi I'm trying to help out a relative who l believe has a claim. She had MPPI with National and Provincial (which later became Abbey) in the early 90's, l think she was mis-sold as she was a full time student at the time and was also told it was required to get a mortgage. She still has all the paperwork and l am happy to fill out the forms required but she isn't sure she has a claim and wants to pass it over to a company to check especially with the deadline approaching.
Does it sound like she might have a claim? And is it to late to DIY the claim? Not sure if the banks will hold up claims until the deadline passes? :undecided

Might be too late to make a claim if the policy’s cancelled but you can still make a complaint (if that’s what you mean) up to 29 August 2019.
No need to use a third partyhelpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -
Ah yes so sorry of course l meant a complaint! I'll start paperwork for her tomorrow, any idea if the banks will unnecessarily delay the claim to go over the deadline? Or am l just highly cynical?!0

The deadline is for claims, not for payments.#2 Saving for Christmas 2024 - £1 a day challenge. £325 of £3660

There were a number of lenders offering mortgage deals as long as you bought MPPI. If you didn't want MPPI, then you got a different deal. that is allowed as long as it isnt a lie.
Also, if she was a full time student, how did she get a mortgage?but she isn't sure she has a claim and wants to pass it over to a company to check especially with the deadline approaching.
CMCs do not check. They will just submit the complaint irrespective of whether she has a case or not.And is it to late to DIY the claim?
No. The deadline is not yet.Not sure if the banks will hold up claims until the deadline passes?0
