PPI....claim or no claim?

Hi I’m new to the forum and have a couple of dilemma questions re PPI claim/enquiry.
In the early 1990’s I took out PPI with a company that has now gone out of business. This was mis-sold to me due to me not requiring it, but it being insisted on. However, during the first year of it being taken out I was taken ill and subsequently had to retire from my job through ill health. I never made a claim on the policy, because, as I pointed out at the time of signing, I had no need for such a policy due to the structure of my salary at that point.
My question here is, can I make a claim for PPI even though I successfully sued, approximately 12 months after taking out the policy, for my monthly payments to be returned and payments made for my mortgage I had made, or should I consider the matter done and dusted? At the time an independent financial adviser pointed out that I had been mis-sold this policy but I was too ill to pursue yet another case. Any advice please?
The other problem, around about the same time I took out a ‘loan to buy’ with Martin Dawes. Do I approach Martin Dawes to enquire who would have dealt with the loan, or just enquire re PPI? When I came to settle the amount early, I seem to remember the paperwork being from a company other than Martin Dawes. Again, any advice here would be appreciated.
Many thanks in advance.

No.
1 - you already took action and got a resolution
2 - the company no longer exists. So, who would you propose complaining to?
PPI redress is a refund of premums plus interest. You already had a refund of premiums. So, what do you have to complain about? The other problem, around about the same time I took out a ‘loan to buy’ with Martin Dawes. You approach the seller. Not the provider. Unless the seller and provider were one the same.0 -
Thank you for your kind words and advice.0
