Hi all, wonder if u can help

I ordered some goods from a well known online retailer, they arrived Thursday, on Saturday i tried it out ( Tarp to use whilst camping ) i used the Tarp over my tent just to try it out, used it for 6 hours then took it down. When i was taking it down i noticed damage to the tarp, I'm not sure if it arrived like this or if it basically was not up to the job.

Can anyone tell me what rights I have ?
I was thinking of just returning and getting my money back as I'm concerned if I got a replacement the same would happen and I dont want to risk it when we are away camping and may rely on it.

Thanks

El

What will be the reason for the return when you say"I was thinking of just returning and getting my money back"?

they may do and that for me is a worry, as I certainly didnt, but it clearly is not up to expected standard
  • Return it as faulty/damaged. Its down to them to prove it wasnt damaged when you received it.

    That's incorrect.
During the first 6 months from purchase, any fault is generally deemed to have been present from new. However, this doesn't apply when using the short term (30 day) right of rejection and in this case the onus for proving a fault existed at the time of purchase reverts back to the purchaser.
