I actually managed to speak to one of the pension people today. I explained my situation and how it wasn't my husbands wish for the pension to be locked away. She is referring it back to the trustees to be reviewed so I have to wait for her to contact me back.0

Which website was used so me/others can check the T&Cs as £1,700 is a lot to lose.
I'm honestly not sure how it was paid. But it was done via just giving.0 -
You are, in your own right, perfectly entitled to ask (perfectly politely) what they are doing! THEY are on the back foot....!
Have you booked an appointment with a solicitor experienced in family law?
Stop guessing and tiptoe-ing - your children NEED you to act to protect them.
Your FiL needs no such protection - he is already ahead of the game!0 -
I recommend using the free HM Land Registry Property Alert Service, so you'll get an email if there's any suspicious activity (eg fraud) relating to the house. https://propertyalert.landregistry.gov.uk/
- If you receive an alert about activity that seems suspicious you should take swift action. The alert email will signpost you to who to contact.

Can you post which pension scheme it is? One of us may then be able to see if there may be survivor's pensions payable in addition to the one-off lump lump sum death grant.0 -

It looks like there's 2 plans. One from time warner money purchase pension plan and one from time warner non-registered group life plan.0 -

I spoke to a solicitor on the phone via my home insurance and he basically said it was too late to do much about the will as you only get 6 months to contest it? It's not even that I'm unhappy with what's wrote in the will, I just don't think it's specific enough. I queried my husband on these things the week before he died and I even have messages from him saying he doesn't understand the ins and outs of it, his dad arranged it all.0 -
Is it 6 months from when Probate was granted or 6 months from date of death?Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
Just googled and it does state six months from when probate granted. Do you know when this was?
I think you may be able to check here when Probate was granted
https://www.gov.uk/search-will-probate
ETA: Just checked for my dad and it does state the date of ProbateThrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
