Hi All.
I am selling my car for scrap, the car is an MOT fail and has been declared off road for the last 2 years. The problem i have is that the mileometer is digital and as the car has no battery i dont know what it is in order to fill out the paperwork.
do i really need this info to scrap it ?
thanks.
Pete

all good thanks. found it on last MOT cetificate....0

just look at the last MOT record online see the mileage off that and add a wee bit on. NO ONE is going to scrutinise it.0

When I looked at scrapping a car, the only things the scrap dealers were interested in were:
- The V5 for the car.
- Proof of identity for the person selling it.
If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.0 -
Are you getting the best deal? I sold my car for scrap a few years ago and got £50 from an internet dealer who collected from my home.0

£50 seems a giveaway no wonder the guy hurried along to collect it.0 -
Isn't there a key action to take, like tear off part of the V5 and get buyer to prove their ID then sign it? Or has that gone electronic? To prevent you getting a series of parking and speeding fines.0

Usually they recyclers offer minimum £140 around here and collect at that.0 -
