Fly infestation 😱

We moved into our property 7 month ago after it being empty for 3 year. A couple of month ago we found droppings in the cupboard and my landlord (and also uncle) sprayed expanding foam in the gaps between floor and walls (I suggested skirting boards and he thought it was a silly idea). I've kept the cupboard empty and no more droppings or anything.
A few weeks after we started smelling a funny smell, and found out that our next door neighbour had rats under their floor and they'd put poison down and we were told it would last a few weeks at the most. We also had some flies in the mean time (until now we had treated floorboards as our floor).
We're currently getting laminate flooring laid and for about 5 days we've had black flies stuck to our French doors in our dining room (where the rat dropping cupboard is). There's nothing in the cupboard, no smells, and this is waaaaay worse than last time! Where are they getting in from?! And how do I get them away?! It's driving me insane. To the point where there's around 40 flies on the doors on a morning.
I should probably mention our house backs onto railway lines... and to top it off my landlord is currently on holiday for 2 weeks 🙄
Please help!

Something has died somewhere in your house or next door's. The resultant flies are trying to get out.

I had it with a dead rabbit under the floorboards in a rural office I rented some years ago, made worse as there were no opening windows to let the 000's of flies out, only one double door.

You need to go on a dead animal hunt and remove it, under furniture, behind wall units etc etc

What if it's in an area that isn't accessible? I'm losing my mind, they were under the floor so I'm guessing that's where they're coming from, I have no idea how they're getting up from under the floor though
